Mission statement from Steven Katz

“My mission with Velvet Desk is to help med spas use AI in a practical, professional, and revenue-focused way. I believe the future of the medical industry will be shaped by smart AI systems that remove repetitive work, improve response speed, and give providers more time to focus on the person in front of them.”

I created Velvet Desk because med spas should not have to lose leads, overwhelm staff, or pay for disconnected software just to keep up with basic desk work. The goal is simple: the physician focuses on the patient, and Velvet Desk focuses on the calls, scheduling, documentation, reminders, and follow-up.

AI-focused founder

I am Steven Katz, Founder and CEO of Velvet Desk. I study and build around artificial intelligence because I believe it is one of the biggest shifts coming to the medical industry. My focus is not AI as a buzzword. My focus is AI that solves real operational problems for real businesses.

Student builder

I am a student at South Puget Sound Community College and a student connected with Lassonde Studios at the University of Utah, where I work around other technology founders, builders, and entrepreneurs.

The University of Utah has a strong technology and entrepreneurship legacy, including alumni and innovators connected to Atari, Silicon Graphics, and Netscape. Velvet Desk is built with the same mindset: practical technology, strong execution, and a focus on changing how an industry works.
